The ramshackle guesthouse doesn't look much from the outside but there's a really homely feel and I decide to extend my stay a couple of days so as to enjoy the moernity of the city and catch up on things I have been putting off for ages.

Once again a lot of my day is taken up with admin and trying to organise a horse trip to the Tash Rabat caravanserai near Naryn. It was boiling hot and made it uncomfortable to be walking round the city from travel agent to travel agent. I hope that when I do finally organise it it will prove worthwhile and not too outrageously expensive!

Whilst walking around looking like a lost tourist, a friendly lady called Olga comes over to help me. She very kindly shows me to the next travel agent on my list. She speaks incredibly good English and I soon discover why - she is an english teacher who has set up a school for the locals to be able to obtain tuition. I'm immediately intrigued and she shows me round her school. I've been looking for the opportunity to teach while I have been travelling and I offer to teach a lesson if she wants. She immediately takes the offer and so I now have to plan a lesson for 9am tomorrow!!
