Mission

Open Central Asia is a quarterly magazine, published in the UK, that will connect and highlight the links between Europe and Central Asia. It will promote the cultures, politics, events and communities of both regions and open a discussion and exchange of ideas between them to promote both business co-operation and tourist relations.

 Introduction

There has never been a better time to explore new areas and forge new relationships than today. Despite what may turn out to be one of the worst global financial crises in history, it needs only a quick glance back at history, to the glorious days of the Old Silk Road, to realise the strategic importance of Central Asia in forming civilisations and economic exchange. It also needs little imagination to realise the role that the region will undoubtedly play in the coming years. Despite this, Central Asia remains one of the least explored parts of the world.

Open Central Asia is a new quarterly magazine, published in London, to promote a growing interest from Europeans about Central Asia. The magazine endeavours to bring together and build the links between them and native Central Asians living in Europe. It is devoted entirely to Central Asian cultural, political and economic events as well as opening to public view the splendours of its mythical cities that resonate so profoundly with history – Samarcand, Bukhara, Merv, Almaty, Bishkek, Dushanbe….

The magazine is for all Europeans interested in the region, natives from Central Asia living in Europe and both the international and Central Asian business communities.
