Much of the information regarding the history of and travel along the silk roads would not have been available without the help of several books and websites. There are many good books on the subject but I have tried to pick out the most interesting and useful ones. These selected references should give the interested reader a good starting place for further study. Nothing of course substitutes travelling there!
